Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting (IF)

Our next focus is on learning strategies to stimulate our body's elimination pathways. Intermittent fasting emerges as a powerful tool in this regard, offering a host of benefits for detoxification and overall wellness.

Here is how we do it:

I Suggest a window of 16/8 (8 hours of eating and 16 hours of fasting)

or

Suggested window of 18/6 (6 hours eating and 18 hours fasting) which is more advance.

Intermittent fasting (IF) benefits, includes:

1. **Weight Loss:** By restricting the window of time during which you eat, intermittent fasting can lead to a decrease in calorie intake, which may facilitate weight loss. Additionally, it can help regulate hormones involved in fat metabolism.

2. **Improved Metabolic Health:** IF has been shown to enhance insulin sensitivity, lower blood sugar levels, and reduce inflammation, all of which contribute to better metabolic health. This can lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

3. **Cellular Repair and Longevity:** Fasting triggers autophagy, a cellular repair process in which cells remove damaged components and recycle them for energy. This may promote longevity and protect against age-related diseases.

4. **Brain Health:** Some studies suggest that intermittent fasting may support brain health by enhancing cognitive function, reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, and promoting the growth of new neurons.

5. **Heart Health:** Intermittent fasting can improve cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure, reducing LDL cholesterol levels, and decreasing inflammation, all of which contribute to a lower risk of heart disease.

6. **Increased Energy:** Many individuals report feeling more energized and mentally focused during fasting periods, as the body switches to burning stored fat for fuel instead of relying on glucose from food.

7. **Simplicity and Flexibility:** Intermittent fasting is relatively easy to incorporate into daily life and can be adapted to suit individual preferences and schedules. It doesn't require special foods or supplements, making it a convenient approach to improve health.

It's essential to note that intermittent fasting may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions or eating disorders. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any fasting regimen, especially if you have underlying health concerns.
